Media And Advertisement

The Innergy Professional Academy (IPA)

The professional diplomas offered at the Innergy Professional Academy help students find an immediate toe-hold in media related industries.

The Innergy Professional Academy (IPA) is quite conveniently located in the Krishna Reddy Colony in Domlur. The head of the Academy is Saadiqa Peerbhoy who was the head of the Wigan and Leigh design institute earlier. The school is three years old and is backed by the MAA group who are pioneers in integrated marketing communications. “This is an organisation which will train students with courses tailored exactly to prepare them to work in the media with industry related courses. The academy will run both PG and UG courses where PGs will be trained for two to three years and will be paid an apprenticeship fee where applicable. After their course placements are assured,” says Saadiqa.

The courses offered are a professional diploma in Advertising and Marketing Communication, a diploma in Corporate Communication, and Advanced Diploma in Advertising and Graphic design, Fashion Design and Merchandising and Media Communication. The latter three courses include a three year undergrad course with a summer training and placements assured. These are full time three year courses, leading to a practitioners diploma which is recognised by the concerned industry.

Leading professionals like Harish Bijoor who is a marketing consultant, Stanley Pinto who is a veteran advertising professional, Prahalad Kakkar a prominent film maker of commercials and Prasad Bidapa the renowned fashion expert are part of the visiting faculty who deliver industry oriented courses at the IPA.
With the Advertising and Marketing Course and the Corporate Communication plan the student gets to work as soon as he or she joins the course. This ensures that what is being taught in the class is amplified with hands-on work experience.

“The MAA Group has always trained its own personnel over the decades who have worked with us and moved on,” explains Saadiqa. “Therefore who better than us with the expertise should run a formal school like this?” She says, “Why must a creative child be miserable doing what he is not equipped to do? A creative child is a rare human being and what we need besides the creative streak are good language and communicative skills.”
Admissions are currently on and the procedure involves counselling, an aptitude test, an interview and finally a group discussion.
