CLAT-2009 : Common Admission Law Test for National Law School on May 17

Want to join a premier Law School in India like the NLSIU, Bangalore? Then you need to take a national level Common Law Admission Test – CLAT from last year. This helps the candidates who want to attempt two or more of the 11 premier law schools of India. However, this test is only for Indian students. Foreign nationals can directly approach the institutes.

CLAT 2009 - Date:
Sunday, May 17, 2009. 3 pm to 5 pm

Model:
The new common admission test is designed on the lines of other entrance tests such as the CAT, MAT, JEE etc..

2 hour - 5 Subjects:
Test will be of two-hour duration which would consist mainly of objective-type questions on English language, general knowledge, basic mathematics, legal and logical reasoning.

Place:
This time, the CLAT is being conducted by NALSAR, Hyderabad. Besides, Law Schools at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Raipur, Bhopal, Gandhinagar and Jodhpur, CLAT will also be conducted at Delhi, Chennai, Kochi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Shillong, Jammu, Guwahati, Patna, Jaipur, Lucknow and Bhubaneswar.

Eligibility:
For Under-Graduate programme 10+2 Examination or equivalent with not less than 50% marks. Students taking qualifying examination in March/April 2009 are also eligible to apply.

For Post-Graduate programme, 55% marks in aggregate in LLB / BL (50% in case of Sc/ST/OBC)

Age Limit:
Maximum 20 years as on 1st July 2009 (22 years in case of SC/ST/OBC)

Application and Brochure:
Applications are being issued from January 12, 2009
Last date for receiving filled in Application along with DD - April 10, 2009

Offline : Printed application form and brochure will be available at the designated branches of the Indian Bank and State Bank of India or Laws Schools mentioned above, against the payment of Rs. 2500/- (Rs.2000/- for SC/ST/OBC) or a Request for application may be sent to the convener, CLAT 2009, NALSAR University of Law, 3-4-761, Barkatput, Hyderabad - 500027, with a Demand Draft for Rs.2500/- (Rs.2000/- for SC/ST/OBC) drawn in favour of the Convener, CLAT 2009 (NALSAR), payable at Hyderabad.
