Common Admission Law Test for National Law School on May 11

Want to join a premier Law School in India like the NLSIU, Bangalore? Then you need to take a national level Common Law Admission Test – CLAT from this year. This helps the candidates who want to attempt two or more of the 7 premier law schools of India.

CLAT 2008 - Date:
The first-ever Common Law Admission Test - CLAT to 11 premier law universities in the country will be held on Sunday, May 11, 2008.

Model:
The new common admission test is designed on the lines of other entrance tests such as the CAT, MAT, JEE etc..

2 hour - 5 Subjects:
Test will be of two-hour duration which would consist mainly of objective-type questions on English language, general knowledge, basic mathematics, legal and logical reasoning.

Place:
The first CLAT is being conducted by the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore. Besides, Law Schools at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Raipur, Bhopal, Gandhinagar and Jodhpur, CLAT will also be conducted at Delhi, Chennai, Kochi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Shillong, Jammu, Guwahati, Patna, Jaipur, Lucknow and Bhubaneswar.

Eligibility:
10+2 Examination or equivalent with not less than 50% marks. Students taking qualifying examination in March/April 2008 are also eligible to apply.

Age Limit:
Maximum 20 years as on 1st July 2008

Application and Brochure:
Applications will be issued from January 31, 2008
Last date for receiving filled in Application along with DD - April 10, 2008

Offline : Printed application form and brochure will be available at the designated branches of the Corporation Bank and State Bank of India against the payment of Rs. 2000/- or a Request for application may be sent to the convener, CLAT, National Law School of India University, Bangalore 560242, with a Demand Draft for Rs.2000/- drawn in favour of the Convener, CLAT, payable at Bangalore.

Online : Applications may be downloaded from www.clat.ac.in or Use the online form and print the it. Then send it to Convener, CLAT, NLSIU, Bangalore, along with a DD for Rs.2000/- drawn in favour of the Convener, CLAT, payable at Bangalore.
